Position Title:              RF Data Collection Technician I

Reports To:                  Project Manager or Team Lead

Working Hours:           8 to 12 hour shifts in a 24 X 7 schedule

 

Summary:

As an RF Data Collection Technician I, you will learn to collect cellular network baseline data and file reports back to company HQ.  Drive Testers use vehicles in the performance of their duties and use test equipment to collect sensitive cellular network data. RF Data Collection Technician I will work in varying locations and perform various aspects of the job. This job is a good fit for people who:

Essential Functions:

  • Learn all aspects of the job quickly and work independently with little supervision
  • Collect propagation and signal measurement data for the analysis of RF performance
  • Measure field data for the base station to identify RF signals frequencies and respective power levels
  • Follow test plans, follow test site scheduling, understand equipment calibration and setup, RF signal measurement and basic data analysis.
  • Work independently days or nights to gather relevant RF data, as required by the project

 

Other Functions:

  • Independently plan routes and manage time required to execute the amount of work that is planned for the project timeline (day/week)
  • Quickly learn and retain relevant system knowledge through applied learning, reading of standards documents or other documentation and review of test plan documents
  • Resolve basic computer problems with navigation and data collection software
    Demonstrate basic understanding of RF theory

 

Work Environment:

  • Extended hours in a vehicle
  • Work on day shift or night shift as needed
  • Overnight hotel stays as needed, on occasion

 

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must be based in or near the specified work location
  • Current driver’s license, current car insurance
  • Excellent driving record - with at least 2 years driving experience in the US
  • College desired, high school Graduate required
  • Must be willing to learn the TEMS, XCAL or other comprehensive RF data collection tools
  • Must have basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Flexible to travel and work aggressive schedules including night shift
  • Must be able to pass standard background check including driving record
  • Good written and verbal English language communication skills

Customer Delivery Engineering Technical Leader

Location: Dallas (Preferred), Austin, or other major US city

  • Leads customer delivery engagements and/or provides escalation support for large scale solutions and complex issues through deep technical expertise. Provides leadership capabilities and insight for creation and sharing of intellectual capital, influences the Engineering team to improve products, actively mentors and develops others.
  • Thought leader; collaborates cross functionally with internal stakeholders to showcase the value of Cisco services and solutions to customers.
  • Drives customer technology transitions, influencing solution architectures and services.
  • Builds customer simulations to resolve/validate complex problems and compatibility issues.
  • Leads creation and dissemination of technical collateral, intellectual capital, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Provides technical expertise and escalation support in documenting and resolving technical problems found in products and solutions.
  • Mentors and develops others.

Scope:

  • Interfaces internally and externally with customers, senior leadership, other Engineers, Partners, field personnel, CAP Managers, and internal engineering departments and product organizations.

Expertise:

  • Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 8+ years related experience.

Project Specific

Looking for a technical leader (SME in IOS-XE and SD-WAN) role based out of Dallas. Desired Education, Skills, and Certifications:

    • BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 15+ years related experience.
    • CCIE in Route & Switch; Service Provider; or Data Center Technologies - Required.
    • Must have solid Network design skills, with strong knowledge of networking fundamentals.
    • Extertise in Cisco SD-WAN solution on Catalyst platforms
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design robust SD-WAN solutions.
    • Architect, configure, and deploy Cisco SD-WAN components, including vManage, vSmart, vBond, vEdges, and cEdges.
    • Ensure seamless integration with existing network infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, security, and project management, to ensure successful SD-WAN migrations and deployments.
    • Conduct, co-ordinate pre-deployment testing across an SD-WAN network with complex requirements.
    • Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide timely resolutions.
    • Define and enforce application-level QoS policies.
    • Ensure optimal performance for critical applications across the SD-WAN.
    • Extend SD-WAN connectivity to Azure and AWS using cloud SD-WAN routers (e.g., CSR routers).
    • Document solution designs, configurations, and best practices.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
    • Hands on experience in deploying and supporting Cisco Enterprise SD-WAN Routing Platforms
    • IP Routing, Inter-networking, LAN Switching, L3 VPN/VRF-Lite, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, inter-as routing, QoS, Ipv6, IP SLAs, RPVST+, MST, PIM, DMVPN, GETVPN, NetFlow, PfR.
    • Has moderate to advanced knowledge of software programmability, automation, orchestration, virtualization.
    • Prior Scripting, Python, and/or Linux experience with REST API is highly desired.
    • Ability to apply critical thinking to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
